Each year The Economist picks the country that, in its view, has improved the most over the previous 12 months.
“Italy’s covid vaccination rate is among the highest in Europe. And after a difficult 2020, its economy is recovering more speedily than those of France or Germany.” Credit is given to the leadership of its PM Mario Draghi.
We cannot but celebrate this news in a year where Italy got recognitions in many different fields from sports, by excelling at the Olympics, to science, with the award of a Nobel Prize in Physics and many in between including arts, with the success its rock music at Eurovision.
