Italy at the forefront of IAC 2025: ITA as main sponsor and members in the spotlight in Sydney

The International Astronautical Congress (IAC), the world’s most important event dedicated to the space sector, welcomed a strong Italian presence this year. The 76th edition is being held in Sydney from 29 September to 3 October 2025, organised by the International Astronautical Federation (IAF), hosted by the Space Industry Association of Australia (SIAA) and co-hosted by the New South Wales Government and the Australian Space Agency.

Each year, the Congress brings together thousands of delegates from across the globe, including institutions, companies, research centers, and universities, to share innovations, build partnerships, and discuss the future of space exploration. The opening of the Italian Pavilion featured distinguished guests and showcased more than 20 leading Italian companies presenting pioneering technologies, ranging from launchers and propulsion to satellite systems, Earth observation, IoT, and space domain awareness.

At the forefront was ITA – Italian Trade Agency, which participated as the main sponsor of the event, strengthening the positioning of Made in Italy in the space sector and supporting national excellence in its global outreach. (👉 Read the LinkedIn update)

The balloon soared 35 km over Western Australia, with our adventurous Quokkanaut on board. The recoverable plaque from this mission has now made its way to Sydney — and you can see it on display at IAC! (👉 See LinkedIn post)

Italy’s strong participation in IAC 2025 underlines not only the vitality of the national aerospace sector but also the ability of Italian institutions and companies to collaborate and stand out on the international stage.
