The “L’Italia in 10 Selfie ” report has been presented, the result of in-depth research by the Symbola Foundation in collaboration with Unioncamere and Assocamerestero, with the patronage of the Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale, the Ministero dell’Ambiente e della Sicurezza Energetica and the Ministero delle Imprese e del Made in Italy. This report offers a unique insight into our economy and the sectors where Italy excels globally. 10 selfies to tell the story of our country in all its excellence, where innovation and tradition meet to build a more sustainable and competitive future. Here are some of the key areas where Italy shines:
🌍 Recycling and Sustainability: With a recycling rate of 91.6%, Italy is a leader in Europe in waste management.
⚡ Renewable Energy: Enel is the world’s largest private operator in the renewable energy sector.
🌳 Decarbonization: Italy’s steel industry leads in decarbonization with 86% of steel produced via electric arc furnaces.
👨🌾 Organic Farming: Italy is the European country with the highest number of organic farms.
🎢 Amusement Rides and Theme Parks: We are global leaders in the export of amusement rides.
🪑 Furniture and Design: With a $10.9 billion trade surplus, Italy ranks third in the world for furniture exports.
🧳 Congress Tourism: With 553 congresses hosted, Italy ranks second globally for congress tourism.
🍝 Gastronomy: Italy is the world leader in pasta production, exporting over 60% of its production.
💊 Pharmaceuticals: Italy leads the world in pharmaceutical export growth and ranks second in Europe for patent applications in the pharmaceutical sector.

The report, available in seven languages, is distributed worldwide through the network of Italian Embassies and Chambers of Commerce abroad.
